LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - The final of six organized forums for public discussion on the Lafayette Parish school superintendent search will be held Thursday at Comeaux High School.
The Advocate reports the small group discussions on superintendent qualities and priorities will be used by the School Board to develop interview questions of job candidates.
The application period for the job closed on Sept. 12 with 32 applications received. The school board will interview its top 10 choices next month with a new superintendent expected to be named in December.
Superintendent Burnell Lemoine plans to retire at the end of the year when his contract expires.
