PIERRE PART- Around 11pm last night, the Assumption Parish Communications Division responded to a call from a woman claiming her brother was trying to kill himself. Once deputies arrived at the 100 block of Mary Ann Street in Pierre Part it was learned that Neil Theriot had a self-inflicted cut to one of his wrists. Theriot was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City where he was treated and later released.
About 6am this morning, a second complaint from the same address was received in reference to Neal Theriot alledly punched his mother, Wanda Domingue, in the face and she shot him in the leg.
According to authorities Theriot exited the residence stating he had been shot. He was transported by Acadian Ambulance under police escort back to Teche Regional Medical Center and was treated and released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office this afternoon.
According to deputies, Domangue claims that once her son got back from the hospital he was angry and started knocking on the door of her room asking for his computer. She told him "no" and he then kicked in the door and allegedly started pushing her around in the room. She then grabbed her gun off the dresser and walked outside and Theriot followed behind. He then swung at her hitting her on the left side of the face. While still standing after the hit, she stated she fired the gun once hitting him in the leg.
Neil Theriot, age 34, of Pierre Part, was arrested late this afternoon and charged with Domestic Abuse Battery, Criminal Damage to Property and Disturbing the Peace. He is being held at the Assumption Parish Detention Center. His bond has not been set as of the time of this release.
Wanda Domingue, age 50, of Pierre Part, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Second Degree Battery. She is being held at the Assumption Parish Detention Center. Her bond has not been set as of the time of this release.
