Lafayette, LA - Warmer weather and beautiful spring days will soon welcome many great outdoor activities to South Louisiana. Soon this welcome will extend to FestiVÉLO de Lafayette, the kickoff party for Lafayette's Bike Month this April.
FestiVÉLO, which will run from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 7 at Parc Sans Souci, is a celebration of bicycling. This free event is hosted by BikeLafayette, TRAIL and Lafayette Consolidated Government. It's open to everyone, including casual cyclists and those who bike every day.
"We're really excited to celebrate Bike Month when the weather should be nice, and FestiVÉLO de Lafayette will kick off Bike Month with a fun start," Laura Phillips of LCG said. "For children, adults, those who bike for either recreation or transportation, and even those who have never ridden before but are interested, FestiVÉLO will be a great opportunity to get outdoors and meet your fellow cyclists."
Events are tailored for all ages and levels of cycling. FestiVÉLO will offer food and drink, live music, a customized & restored bike show, a bike shop round-up, an arts and crafts show, group bike rides, sprints, and cycling skill classes. Participants will even be able to register their bikes with LCG at FestiVÉLO. And if it rains look for the event in Parc Auto Du Centre-Ville, next door to Parc Sans Souci.
