Festival Of Lights rescheduled for Dec. 5, 2009

Due to weather, The Festival of Light has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 5 pm to 10 pm in the Oil Center of Lafayette.

The following streets will be closed:

Coolidge Blvd. between Oil Center and St. Mary Blvd. from Friday, December 4 to Saturday, December 5 at midnight.

All other Oil Center streets will be closed from 4 pm to 10 pm on Saturday, December 5.

Festival of LightsThis year's festival boasts to be one of the biggest and best festivals to date. Many new additions have been incorporated as well as traditional events. There will be new lighted pieces, and more activities for the youngsters to enjoy, including Santa's Workshop where children will be able to make a Christmas keepsake of their own! Free

Santa will be on hand to take wishes and pictures! Free

This year there will also be a living Nativity!

The traditions of Festival of Light will remain the same. Local groups will provide traditional holiday music for your enjoyment. A Taste of the Oil Center Food Court will provide delicious delicacies for all to sample and of course, lots of shopping with retail open houses throughout the Oil Center.

Festival of Light is a safe and festive way to start your holidays. Admission is free.
