Festival International De Louisiane wants to conduct its official business in a new home, reads a resolution set for adoption Tuesday at the Lafayette Public Trust Financing Authority (LPTFA).
According to the resolution, Festival International approached LPTFA, which owns the property at 315 Lee Street formerly known as the Greyhound Bus Terminal, to lease the building as its new base of operations.
The resolution, if approved by a majority of the board's five members, would direct the board's chairman, its vice chairman and the LPTFA general counsel to negotiate and pursue a transaction with Festival International de Louisiane for the sale or lease of the property. If the board passes the resolution on Aug. 12, LPTFA chairman, vice chairman, and counsel would have complete authorization to procure all documentation necessary to make a lease or sale transaction happen.
"It is in the best interest of Festival International De Louisiane to have a permanent location in Lafayette for their organization and administrative offices," the resolution reads.
