NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police will get help from a team of federal agents in evaluating how the department investigates homicide cases and why the city's murder rate is so high.
Superintendent Ronal Serpas asked the Homicide Technical Expert Team to come to New Orleans to help determine why the city's murder rate is so high and what police can do about it.
Police spokesman Bob Young said on Tuesday that the team will arrive Monday and go through the department's records and files. Young says the team will also help identify the main causes of murder in New Orleans.
