MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) - Court records show an Upper Peninsula woman has agreed to plead guilty in a fraud case related to Hurricane Katrina.

The U.S. government says 60-year-old Shirley LaMarch and husband Michael applied for federal assistance in 2005, claiming their residence in New Orleans was damaged. They received a check for $2,000, but the Escanaba couple didn't have property there.

Shirley LaMarch has signed a plea deal and agreed to plead guilty. She's due in federal court in Marquette on Wednesday. Prosecutors say they won't oppose a sentence that carries no additional time in custody.

LaMarch's husband was also charged, but he died in November.
