A Texas man is now convicted of using the internet in an attempt to entice a minor to have sex.
A Lafayette federal jury found 67-year-old Elton Ray Jones guilty after deliberating for only one hour.
In 2012, Jones chatted with an agent posing as a 14-year-old for more than one month. During their online chats, Jones used explicit language and planned a sexual encounter with the decoy.
Police arrested Jones in Lafayette when he arrived at the planned meeting place.
Jones faces a prison sentence of 10 years to life and a $250,000 fine.
