Father charged with manslaughter after son's death

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A 62-yearold man from East Baton Rouge Parish is being held on a manslaughter charge in the death of his son.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said Leroy Wilkerson had been booked with attempted manslaughter after the Feb. 13 shooting of 35-year-old Aswan Wilkerson.
A statement Thursday said the victim died on Feb. 18 and the charge against the father was upgraded to manslaughter.
Investigators said the shooting followed an argument outside a parish residence.
