Father Arrested After Son Dies in Car Accident

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, a Arkansas man has been arrested and booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center as a result of a Fatality which occurred on 03/19/10 at approximately 8:20 pm at the intersection of St. Elmo Road and West Main Street just outside of the city limits of Delcambre, which resulted in the death of a male juvenile.

Sheriff Couvillon says that Bryan Adams w/m dob 1983 was traveling northbound on St. Elmo and for unknown reasons ran off the roadway and struck a culvert and a dirt embankment and came to rest in a ditch.

Sheriff Couvillon further stated that Mr. Adams 4 yr. old juvenile son who was improperly restrained in a lap only seatbelt died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.

Sheriff Couvillon says that Adams was arrested on the following charges.

1) Vehicular Homicide – Bond $25,000.00

2) OWI - Bond $ 2,000.00

3) Operating a Vehicle under Suspension – Bond $ 1,000.00

4) Driving Under Suspension - Bond $ 1,000.00

5) Careless Operation - Bond $ 500.00

6) Child Passenger Restraint - Bond 200.00

Total Bond $29,700.00

Finally, Sheriff Couvillon says that additional charges may be forthcoming
