Fatal Motorcycle Accident Kills Lafayette Man

On April 11, 2010, at approximately 1:30 pm, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 200 block of E. Kaliste Saloom Road regarding a crash involving a motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle was traveling east, in the 200 block of E. Kaliste Saloom Road, when a 1992 Ford F150, traveling west on E. Kaliste Saloom Road, turn left into the path of the motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital and later died from his injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured and was cited for Failure to Yield while Turning Left.
The deceased operator of the motorcycle is identified as Justin Claudean Crawford (26) of Lafayette. The crash remains under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department.
