FARMERVILLE, La. (AP) - Union Parish Schools Superintendent
Steve Dozier says a Farmerville high school lineman has died after
a light football practice.
He tells The News-Star that 15-year-old sophomore Kebrion Morgan
had watched film with the team and was about to start conditioning
Sunday, but collapsed after telling a trainer he felt ill.
Dozier says that, according to a preliminary report, Morgan died
in an ambulance.
He says the team had met in the school auditorium with
counselors on hand while he was driving back from Houston, where he
had been on vacation.
Sheriff Bob Buckley said Morgan died around 4:30 p.m., and he
contacted 30 minutes later.
Calls Monday to Coroner Steven Venters and Police Chief E.
"Bim" Coulbertson were not returned.
