An Evangeline Parish Family is mourning the loss of a loved-one, who was killed in an oil-rig accident over the weekend in North Dakota.
35-year-old Coby Thibodeaux was killed when a bulldozer backed over him.
He leaved behind a fiancee and three daughters.
An investigation is underway right now, by all signs point to a freak accident.
Now, Thibodeaux's family here at home, is trying to come to terms with the loss.
A member of the Navy, a father and a brother, Coby was excited to start his new job in the oilfield.
Coby's sister Jessica Charlot says the only thing her brother was looking forward to more than his new job, was having the chance to surprise his kids for Father's Day.
Jessica hopes that others in the oilfield learn from Coby's accident, and take extra caution when they are on the job.
Charlot says, "Anybody that works in the oilfield...If you're operating heavy machinery please be aware of your surroundings because you never know what is in front of you. Just make sure because I feel like this shouldn't have happened."
Visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou on Thursday at 2 p.m.
Funeral services will follow Friday at 11 a.m.
