Ex-husband arrested in 2012 murder

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested an ex-husband in connection with a murder last year. Billy Ray Harris, 38, is accused of killing 38-year-old Raymona Gilmore who was found dead inside her home on Gauthier Rd. in Lake Charles. "After an extensive investigation new evidence connected Harris, ex-husband of Gilmore, to the murder and a warrant for his arrest was issued today," Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kim Myers said.
Harris has been in jail since July 28 on drug charges is now charged with second degree murder. Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $500,000.
