On September 25, 2012, Jimmy R. Gallow was arrested in connection with the alleged burglary of a residence off of Saint Julien Road, which occurred on or about August 27, 2012. Gallow admitted to Investigators that he took numerous items from under the carport of the residence. Gallow was arrested and booked into the parish jail for simple burglary and theft.
On September 21, 2012, Ricky Thibodeaux and Jonathan Richard were arrested in connection with an alleged burglary of a residence located off of Mariaun Road in the Duralde area, which occurred on or about September 19, 2012. Investigation revealed that Thibodeaux and Richard pawned approximately $600 of stolen tools in Eunice. Ricky Thibodeaux and Jonathan Richard were booked into the parish jail for simple burglary and theft.
On September 14, 2012, Detectives with Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department responded to suspicious activity on Curtis Loop in the Lone Pine area of St. Landry. Detectives recovered a medication bottle left at the scene which contained what they believed to be methamphetamine. Detectives conducted several interviews with witnesses in the area and made contact with Dennis Book, who was reportedly seen in the area. Book admitted to placing the medication bottle at the scene and told investigators that the substance was meth. A field test on the suspicious substance was conducted and revealed that it was in fact methamphetamine. Dennis Book was charged and booked into the parish jail for illegal possession of 13 grams of methamphetamine.
Sheriff Eddie Soileau would like to remind citizens that the operation of ATV's on the roadway is unsafe and is illegal. Persons found operating ATV's on the roadway may be cited and the ATV towed at the owner's expense. Sheriff would also like remind citizens to properly secure their equipment and to contact his office with information about illegal activities and to report all suspicious activity to his office. He said all callers will remain anonymous.
