OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) Evangeline Downs at Opelousas opens its 2010 thoroughbred horse racing season Wednesday night.
Track officials say 362 horses have entered to run in the first three nights of 10-race programs. Evangeline Downs has scheduled 24 stakes races with purses of over $1.7 million.
The meet will run Wednesday through Sunday nights. The traditional close will come on Labor Day.
