Dana Brooke Veillon, 27, was killed in a traffic crash last night on I-110 near Harding Blvd.
The crash occurred around 7:50pm.
The preliminary investigation shows Veillon was driving a 1994 Toyota southbound in the northbound lanes of traffic. She crashed head-on into a northbound 2007 Toyota Tundra, and then also collided with a northbound 1999 GMC Suburban. Veillon died at the scene. There were no other occupants in her vehicle.
The Tundra was driven by Chase Philips,29, of Zachary, LA and occupied by his 27-year old wife and two children, ages 2 and 6.
The driver and his wife suffered minor to moderate injuries and were transported to Baton Rouge GeneralMid-City. The children were not hurt.
The Suburban was driven by Sharon Clark, 42, of St. Francisville, LA. She suffered moderate injuries. A 10-year old child occupant suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to Our Lady of the LakeRegionalMedicalCenter.
Alcohol usage is suspected on the part of the deceased driver. The investigation by the Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing.
