OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) - The bond for a 45-year-old Eunice woman accused of attempting to hire a hit man to kill her estranged husband and his new girlfriend has been increased to $500,000.
State District Judge Alonzo Harris this week agreed to the prosecution's request to increase the bond for Glynis Ann Fournerat on two counts of solicitation for murder.
Following Fournerat's formal plea of not guilty, Harris also set jury selection for July 7 and July 13 with the trial expected to begin soon after a jury is impaneled.
Fournerat was arrested in October after officers received a tip she was allegedly trying to hire a hit man. A deputy, posing as a hit man, then meet with Fournerat who allegedly offered him $8,000 to commit the double murder.
