Three faulty gullies in Eunice are getting some much needed re-enforcement thanks to efforts by Mayor Bob Morris.
Since Mayor Bob Morris has been in office, his main goal has been to make as many improvements to the city as he can.
While doing that, he's also kept the city's bank account in better than good standing.
$1.1 million spent on the new Eunice water treatment plant.
$900 thousand on new roads
$750 thousand on lift stations
All while adding $1.1 million to the city's bank account.
"The job of government is to take care of it's infrastructure and other than that stay out of your life," says Mayor Morris.
And now $53 thousand on concrete mats for the faulty gullies.
The mayor bought four-ton concrete mats to place along the gully embankments to secure the foundation.
They will be placed at maple avenue and 5th St, 12th St. and Vine, and HWY 13 and Dean St.
The original plan was to buy 20n slabs and fix the worst gully, but Mayor Morris says the cost was too good to leave at that.
But he met with the city council thursday morning and they decided to go ahead and get the remaining 70.
If you weren't keeping count the City of Eunice has spent more than $3 million on infrastructure improvements.
