Eunice mayor expected to be released today

Eunice Mayor Claud "Rusty" Moody suffered a medical scare Sunday, but his staff report the mayor should be released from an Opelousas hospital today.

"As far as we know it was dehydration because he was on antibiotics," said Joan McManus, an assistant to the mayor. "He had been open several antibiotics and this one just affected him funny. He just wasn't hungry and wasn't drinking fluids."

Moody was hospitalized Sunday following a call to Acadia Parish 911.

Eunice Police Chief Ronald Dies said that he arrived to Moody's home shortly before the ambulance transported the mayor to Opelousas General Hospital.
