Eunice man accused of throwing coffee on cashier

A Eunice man is behind bars for allegedly throwing hot coffee on a cashier at a gas station, and it was all caught on camera.

Officers responded to Valero Gas Station, 2251 W. Laurel Avenue, in Eunice after receiving reports of a cashier being assaulted.

According to police, a customer went into the establishment to purchase a cup of coffee. The customer then allegedly caused a disturbance and cursed out the cashier because of the price of the cup of coffee. Police say the cashier was speaking to the customer when he grabbed the cup of coffee and threw it on her.

According to authorities, other customers confronted the suspect, identified as Timothy Longman, but he fled while the police were receiving the call.

The cashier received burns with blistering to the front torso.

Officers were searching for Longman when he entered Eunice City Hall on other business and was taken into custody according to police.

Longman has been booked and is presently in the Eunice City Jail.

Timothy Longman, 56, was charged with 2nd Degree Battery, Disturbing the Peace and Theft.
