Ethel man booked on child porn count

CLINTON, La. (AP) - Officers with the state Attorney General's Office have arrested a 34-year-old Ethel man who is accused of having child pornography on his computer.

Amanda Larkins, spokeswoman for state Attorney General James "Buddy" Caldwell, tells The Advocate Theodore A. Welles III was booked at the East Feliciana Parish Jail on Thursday with pornography involving juveniles.

Larkins says the arrest came after a joint undercover investigation by the Attorney General's High Technology Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations and the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office.

An affidavit by the investigating officers said numerous files containing alleged child pornography were found on Welles' computer, with some files depicting intercourse by children between the ages of 6 and 10.

It was unclear whether Welles has an attorney.
