Escaped TX sex offender ties to Lafayette area

A sex offender with ties to the Lafayette area escaped from a halfway house in Texas. John Michael Enard, 58, is on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender list and is considered a sexually violent predator and at high risk to reoffend, according to TX Department of Public Safety.
Enard has family in the Lafayette area, but after speaking to the TX Department of Public Safety, Deputy U.S. Marshal Corey Britt in Lafayette said Enard is likely still in Texas. Enard's criminal history includes multiple sexual assaults, and he has threatened to rape again, according to TX DPS. 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or text the letters DPS followed by your tip to 274637 from your cell phone.
