Escaped Inmate in St. Martin Parish

All schools in St. Martinville and the courthouse is on lockdown at this hour because of an escaped inmate. Officers are focusing their search in the downtown area. More information to come, stay tuned to katc.com throughout the day.

Inmate has been identified as Paul Stanley Collins. He's the suspect who had a standoff with officers in July in the sugarcane field for more than 24 hours. He was also accused of murdering his ex-wife. See our previous stories on this suspect:
