Escaped Inmate from Morgan City

Morgan City police are asking residents to be on the lookout for an escaped inmate. Capt. Mike Marino says 23-year-old Travis Lee Miller walked away from a work release program managed by the Richwood Correctional Center in Richwood, LA. Marino says Miller has family and friends in the Morgan City and surrounding areas. "Based on his conviction, Miller should be considered Armed and Dangerous and the public is asked not to approach the subject, and contact MCPD at 985-380-4605 or your local Law Enforcement Agency," he says. Miller pled guilty to armed robbery and armed robbery with the use of a firearm in April 2011. Miller is possibly driving a red late 1990's Jeep Cherokee.

Marino says Miller's plea also included several additional residential burglary charges, which he pled guilty to. Miller was sentenced to Twenty Five (25) years hard labor without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence in the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
