A U.S. Magistrate Judge ordered Eric Manuel, the Lafayette man facing child pornography charges, to remain in jail. Manuel, owner of Half Back Media, made an initial appearance in United States District Court in Lafayette this morning. According to the court, Manuel is a former Youth Minister of St. Thomas More High School. He's accused of befriending boys, posing as a teenager girl, and enticing them to engage in sexual talks and encouraging them to send naked pictures of themselves.

This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Lafayette Field Office, Louisiana State Police and the Lafayette Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney John Luke Walker is the prosecutor.
