Eric Cloutier Pleads No Contest To Charges

UPDATE: Lafayette bar owner Eric Cloutier pled no contest to two felony counts today.

The counts include obstruction of justice and filing false tax returns.

Cloutier was sentenced to pay $10,000 in investigative fees, serve two years probation, and perform 40 hours of community service.

Lafayette businessman Eric Cloutier is fighting charges of racketeering and money laundering.

His attorney now claims evidence in the case was gathered without a proper search warrant. The attorney has filed 3 motions asking a judge to suppress the evidence.

A hearing is set for tomorrow. Cloutier's trial is set for January 25th.
