Erath School Evacuated After Gas Line Ruptures

Update: According to City Council Member John Leblanc, there is a voluntary evacuation after a gas line ruptured in Erath. He says, the line is operated by Centerpoint Energy, and people are being urged to stay away. The fire department has closed several streets, including Primeaux, Ranger, and Old Sugar Mill Road. Dozier Elementary School students have been evacuated as precaution and taken to the Pope John II hall on South Broadway. Parents can pick up their children with proper ID.

There are reports of a gas line rupture in Erath by Dozier Elementary School. There are no report of injuries at this time. Dozier Elementary School has been evacuated to a church, near the high school. Stay tuned to our continuous news website for the latest information.
