A Vermilion Parish jury found Curtis Stubblefield, 49, of Erath, guilty as charged of DWI 3rd offense after deliberating for one hour and 13 minutes, according to Assistant District Attorney Stanton Hardee, III.
On February 26, 2012, Stubblefield crashed into a concrete bridge on North Road north of Erath in Vermilion Parish. Deputy Robert Wells testified that Stubblefield swayed and had alcohol odor on his breath. The jury also heard Stubblefield had two prior DWI convictions.
The Honorable Durwood Conque sentences him on July 25, 2013. He faces 5 years at hard labor with a fine of $2,000.
