Entergy: Squirrel Blows Fuse, Causes Carencro Power Outage

Nearly 3,000 Entergy customers in Carencro and Lafayette are without power at this hour. Entergy says a squirrel blew a fuse after becoming caught in equipment at a power plant. Liz Duhon, Entergy's spokesperson, says power will be restored between 11:30 and 12:30 today. She says two transformers were affected, and crews are working right now to replace them.
