Entergy fuse blowout causes parts of Scott, Lafayette to lose power

Approximately 1,900 Entergy customers in Scott and Lafayette are without power at this hour.

According to Entergy's website, the first power outages were reported just after 9 A. M. along University Avenue, Renaud Drive, and in the Coulee Mine area. A little more than an hour later, most of Scott lost power.

Officials say a blown high-side fuse at the Lafayette substation caused the outage. Crews are on site replacing the fuse, and officials say all customers should have their power restored within the half-hour.
