Residents in the town of Elton are cleaning up after what some say was a tornado ripped through town.
"What we had was a tornado touchdown with significant high winds," said Elton Fire Chief John Richer.
Hardest hit was a six block area just north of Main Street, where 10 to 12 homes sustained the brunt of the damage.
"We've got trees down, roofs completely destroyed, homes destroyed," Richer said.
Tree limbs also took down power lines too, knocking out electricity to six blocks of customers. Although the streets are scattered with tree limbs and debris, residents and firefighters are just thankful no one was hurt.
