Opelousas Police are investigating a home invasion that took place at 1 a.m. Saturday morning.
According to officers, an elderly female on Jasmine Drive was allegedly attacked by a tall broad muscular built man inside of her home. The victim was allegedly punched several times in the face by the intruder. As the intruder moved throughout the home, the victim was able to exit the home and run to the neighbors home.
When officers arrived to the scene the suspect was nowhere to be found.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a local Hospital.
The suspect is described as a tall broad muscular built man, wearing a white scarf over his face, a white button down shirt, dark shades, white gloves and a fishing hat. The victim also described her attacker as being athletic due to his ability to move as quickly as he did.
The victims purse containing several items was stolen.
