An investigation which has been under way for an extended period of time has come to a close today, as Crowley Police armed with arrest warrants and a search warrant, have arrested Dudley Broussard, 79, Crowley.
Agents with the Crowley Police Department arrested Broussard early this morning on 4 counts of Distribution of Oxycodone and 1 count Conspiracy to Distribute Oxycodone. After taking Broussard into custody, a search warrant was served on his residence at 1237 Williams Ave in Crowley. During the search, a variety of pills were recovered from the residence as well as from Broussard’s person.
“During the search, agents recovered Hydrocodone, Valium, Oxycodone and Alprazolam from the residence. In all, 86 pills were recovered as part of the search along with over $5,000 in currency from drug proceeds” stated Chief of Police K.P. Gibson.
Broussard was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on the 5 arrest warrants, along with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Oxycodone, Valium, Hydrocodone and Alprazolam. Broussard has also been charged with Monies Derived from Drug Proceeds and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a School Zone. His bond has been set at $300,000.
Agents with the Crowley Police Department, have also seized a 2010 Toyota Tacoma truck owned by Broussard and have filed seizure documents in court, to seize the residence at 1237 Williams Ave. Both properties were utilized for the drug trade of Broussard, thus authorities have filed for seizure of said property.
