NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Education professors from Atlanta and New York City will deliver lectures on urban education in September at the University of New Orleans.
The presentations in the Homer L. Hitt Alumni and Visitors Center will be open to the public.
The Times-Picayune reports Georgia State University professor Joyce King will speak Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.
Columbia University associate professor Mariana Souto-Manning is scheduled for Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.
Each speaker also will conduct a professional development workshop for New Orleans public school teachers, as well as faculty and students in UNO's College of Education.
The lectures are underwritten by a grant from Capital One Bank.
