Lafayette Fire Department fire investigators have determined that the fire at 400 East Bayou Parkway on August 11th was arson.
Lafayette Fire Department fire investigators have determined that the fire at 400 East Bayou Parkway on August 11th was arson. The fire, reported at 4:06 a.m., ravaged the 6,000 square feet home leaving the owner nothing to retrieve. Investigators believe that the fire was intentionally set to cover up a burglary at that residence. Through the investigation, it was determined that a large amount of money and numerous expensive jewelry was removed from a safe. In addition, three very expensive chandeliers were taken from the house.
Arson investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers (232-TIPS.)
