SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) - A strong earthquake has shaken northern
Chile.
There are no immediate reports of victims or damage from the
quake, which the U.S. Geological Survey gave a preliminary
magnitude of 6.2.
Friday morning's temblor hit at 11:52 a.m. local time (10:52
p.m. EDT; 1452 GMT)
Its epicenter was near Copiapo, 380 miles (600 kilometers) north
of the capital of Santiago.
