Early Morning Shooting in Crowley, Suspect Still on the Run

Crowley Police are investigating an early morning shooting which has left one man in critical condition. Crowley Police were notified that a gun shot victim was transported to the American Legion Hospital at approximately 1:30 am early Sunday morning. Officers discovered that the victim was shot during a disturbance which occurred at the American Legion Hall located in the 600 block of West 3rd Street.

Information at this point has revealed that a disturbance began inside the hall. During this disturbance, an idividual removed a firearm and fired one shot striking the victim in the upper chest area. Police are not sure if the disturbance was between the victim and suspect or other parties.

Police have identified the suspect as Obryan Lamar Woods, 21, Crowley. An arrest warrant has been obtained for Woods for one count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. Crowley Police request that anyone with information regarding this investigation or information regarding the whereabouts of Obryan Lamar Woods contact Crowley Police at 783-1234 or Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at 789-TIPS (8477).
