Early Morning Fire Erupts in Abbeville

In Vermillion Parish, the Abbeville Fire Department responded to a house fire early this morning.
Around 1:30 A.M., there were reports of heavy smoke coming from a house in the 1800 block of Wabash.
Upon arrival, crews saw that the back of the home had erupted in flames. Officials say the fire started in the bathroom, although they are still investigating what was the actual cause of the fire.
Five people were inside the house when the fire started, but it is reported that there were not injuries.
