Early Morning Fatal Crash I-49 Southbound

Police and emergency officials are on the scene of a fatal accident at milemarker 15 southbound on I-49 in Opelousas. The accident happened around 2am Monday morning. There are reports of one fatal victim. There were two other people with injuries, but there is no information on their current conditions.
The southbound lanes are closed. Officials suggest drivers take an alternate route. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
