The Vermilion Municipal Narcotics Task Force Agents say they have made a concerted effort to increase the number of investigations and arrests for prescription and designer drugs in the parish. Agents say recent arrests are from a lengthy investigation into the crime of the prescription and designer drug scene.
Scott Trahan, 41, of Abbeville was arrested for two counts of Distribution of the Club Drug Ecstasy (MDMA). No bond has been set at this time. Trahan is also wanted by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office. Trahan has been on the run for a while after agents attempted to serve warrants on him. It is believed he was staying away from the Vermilion area and would return in the late or early morning hours, then leave again. Agents received information that Trahan was indeed in town on the late evening of July 11th and was subsequently arrested.
Joshua Mendoza, 26, of Kaplan was arrested for two counts of contempt of court.
Cornin Steve Tyler, 37, of Lake Arthur was arrested and charged with Prohibited acts. Total Bond was set at $10,000
Gary Guidry, 50, of Abbeville was arrested and charged with possession of Hydrocodone, Possession of Alprazolam, and Prohibited acts of Scheduled narcotic. No bond has been set at this time.
Johndrick Guidry, 26, of Abbeville was arrested and charged with Possession of Hydrocodone and Prohibited acts of a scheduled narcotic. Total bond set was $7500.00
