Thursday, Iberia Parish Sheriff's narcotics agents and deputies with the IMPACT unit conducted two seperate investigations. The first was at 709 Cherokee Street.
Thomas Vallere was arrested after agents say they found 60 grams of marijuana on Vallere, which was individually packaged for street sale. Deputies say they also found an additional 267 grams of marijuana and a stolen hand gun inside of the residence. Vallere was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on charges of possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a stolen firearm.
The second arrest came following a traffic stop on Harriet Street. Deputies say they located approximately 56 grams of marijuana in the vehicle and a small amount of "crack" cocaine inside the vehicle. Two people were arrested, but another one took off running. Deputies then obtained a search warrants for one of the occupants at 317 St. Jude, New Iberia. As agents executed the search warrant on St. Jude they discovered three children (Ages 11, 4 and 1) unsupervised in the residence. Agents also discovered an additional 829 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and a hadgun. Jimmy Williams was arrested for possession of a firearm n the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, no drivers license, failure to signal and monies derived from drug transactions. Christopher Henry was charged with obstruction of justice and possession of crack cocaine. Terry Patterson was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile and child desertion. Patterson was charged due to her arriving on the scene of the traffic stop and leaving the three children alone at the residence on St. Jude Street. All three were booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.
