Driver Killed after Hitting Pole in Park

A crash in Iberia Parish has left one person dead. The single-vehicle accident took place around 6:00 this morning in the 4000 block of Weeks Park Road. Sheriff's deputies say the driver ran a stop sign on Smith Road before going into Lydia Park and crashing into a pole. The driver was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The name of the deceased has not yet been released. The crash remains under investigation.
