After 28 consecutive days with showers and storms in Acadiana stronger high pressure and more stable air has brought rain chances down to near zero across the area.

As a result, very hot conditions Sunday afternoon will likely continue for Monday and Tuesday with daytime highs reaching the mid-90s. Combining the heat with the humidity look for heat indices to reach the 105-110F range over the next few afternoons.

Heat advisories were issued for the area Sunday afternoon and may be issued for the portions of the region again Monday and perhaps Tuesday.

A slight increase in moisture may allow for scattered afternoon storms toward the latter part of the week and perhaps into next weekend.
