Dr. Savoie Re-elected to Serve on Executive Council

University of Louisiana at Lafayette President, Dr. Joseph Savoie has been re-elected on the executive council of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The association serves as the regional body for the accreditation of higher education institutions in 11 southern states. Dr. Savoie will represent Louisiana on a 13-member council who strives to improve education standards and ensure that they are met. Dr. Savoie was elected by the board of trustees and will serve his second of three potential one-year terms. Dr. Savoie's current term will run through December 31, 2013.
