ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Officials say an officer with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety will miss a couple weeks work after he was suspended for having sex with a woman in his state-owned patrol car, many times while on duty.
State Police Superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson ordered DPS Officer Joseph Salinas to miss 100 hours of work without pay for violating a host of rules. That's according to a letter from Edmonson to Salinas dated June 24. The Town Talk
received the letter after submitting a public records request to state police.
Lt. Doug Cain said Salinas has been with the DPS's Weights and Standards division for 3 1/2 years.
The paper said there is no home phone listing for Salinas.
