Dozens of chihuahuas rescued in Crowley

In Crowley, the animal shelter is looking for homes for dozens of Chihuahuas. Officials tell us they responded to a home following a complaint, and found 32 Chihuahuas in unsanitary conditions, some in need of medical attention. Twenty of the dogs were female, many of which are pregnant. Ten of the dogs are male. Since putting out the plea, they've been able to place a dozen dogs. If you're interested in one of them, visit the shelter on West Second street in Crowley or call 458-1073.

Meanwhile, police say no charges will be filed. The couple was elderly, and officials are working to help them as well. They didn't even know how many they had.
