Dozens Arrested in Connection With Home Invasions In Iberia

Press Release: On July 15, 2010 the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office made 24 arrests during the course of the search for the armed robbers responsible for several home invasions in the city of New Iberia and Iberia Parish. Agencies assisting in the search were the FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force, U S Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and DEA Task Force.

The 24 arrests were for various charges. However, two of those individuals included in the arrests were Sajauvious Robertson and Kevin Conley. They were located by officers and found to be in possession of stolen items associated with the previous nights robbery at 924 E. Admiral Doyle. The two were located during a traffic stop in the city of New Iberia. Robertson attempted to flee on foot after ramming a Police Vehicle with the vehicle he was driving, but was apprehended by officers after a brief foot pursuit.

Robertson was charged with illegal possession of stolen items, illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Also, he had warrants from St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office for illegal possession of stolen items and failure to appear. Robertson has a probation violation hold also. Robertson is cooperating with detectives at this time. Kevin Conley was charged with illegal possession of stolen items.

The Sheriff’s Office is expecting more arrests to follow and will continue making arrest on individuals with outstanding warrants who may be associated with the robberies.
