The countdown to Festival International is almost over. The music and good times start on Wednesday night and downtown businesses are eagerly anticipating another great year. Downtown Lafayette is slowly starting to transform for this years event and just like the stages and barricades, businesses are in full swing doing the same. Legends downtown received a big shipment of food today and jumped right into preparing for the next few days.
"It's going to be crazy. If you're not here, you're missing out. Legends is the place to be.This is a big operation for us and it's something that we love to do," Joel Dore of Legends said.
The legends crew expects to have a packed house each night. Being so close to Parc International, they are in the perfect place to receive festival goers when the music ends each night.
"Your weekends are your big nights, but we'll have double that staff on Wednesday and Thursday. That's how big Festival International has become over the past years," Dore said.
Just down the street, Jefferson Street Pub is the official hospitality spot for musicians, volunteers and sponsors. In their second year of doing this, they are excited to have this years event be bigger and better than ever".
I've always loved the festival and now we're part of it. It feels great. It's a great thing for our team. It's great for the community and we're proud to be part of it," Gus Rezende of Jefferson Street Pub said.
