Downtown Lafayette Unlimited, the non-profit which produces the Downtown Alive! concert series twice a year, says more than 7,000 fans packed the park for the first DTA! show of the fall season.
"In over three decades of Downtown Alive!, we've never seen more fans in one place than we did last Friday," said Kate Durio, director of marketing and events for Downtown Lafayette. "Over 7,000 fans packed Parc International and that included new and existing fans."
Friday's concert featured New Orleans-based party band The Molly Ringwalds. The series continues this week with zydeco's Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band playing on the Parc International stage.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Friday, with music from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
